Getting Started |
|
Domain Names--Based
on whether you will rely on advertising and
promotions to bring visitors to your website
or if you plan to bring in most new
customers via search engines. You will need
to pick out a Domain Name. Domain names that
include your business name are good for
those relying on advertising and promotions
to bring in new site visitors, while a
domain name that uses words that summarize
your site or services are good for bringing
in visitors through search engines.
Let us help you in deciding your domain name
and getting it registered. |
|
Site Category & Layout--
Allow your message to get across to the
viewer quickly and easily. Most site
visitors have very short attention spans. If
they can't see and understand your site
quickly, then they move on to other
websites. Take the time to determine what
your main theme or message is to be, then
break that theme or message down into
categories. We will help guide you through
this process and help determine a site
format that loads quickly and is easy to
navigate |
|
Web Art & Graphics--Keep
in mind that quantity, size, and quality of
any graphics that you use will go a long way
in determining the cost of your website.
Processing (cleaning up) graphics is a time
consuming job and will ultimately effect the
total cost of your website not to mention
that graphics can effect the loading time of
your web page and even distract the viewer
from your message. This isn't to discourage
the use of graphics or photos as they are
often more detailed, descriptive, and
helpful than plain text. ("A picture can
be worth a thousand words.") |

|
The Size Of Your Website--
Normally its best to keep your first website
to a minimum size. Not only is it less
costly, but this allows you to grow as your
web base clientele increases. You can add,
change and substitute new information,
pages, links, and text as your business and
site progresses. One of the most
common mistakes that are made in the
creation of a "first" web experience is that
the web author tries to cover every little
aspect of the web owners business or
service. Keep in mind that your target
audience may shift or change, also your
business will undoubtedly experience change
over a period of time. Starting with a basic
website leaves you room to grow and change
as your circumstance dictates. |

Gather
Your Information |
|
Helpful Information--Gather
up any brochures, specification sheets,
photos, or other media that you presently
use to market your product or service. Any
electronic media from manufacturers,
suppliers, vendor catalog sheets, even
competitors information can be helpful. You
will need to provide any images (logos,
drawings, etc.) along with any sounds such
as music, voice narrations, etc. While we
can assist in these areas, we have limited
resources. |

Make Some Lists !
--
Put together a list of your market types,
along with your target audience. This
information will be useful when consulting
with your prospective web designer. It will
allow you to discuss what you like about
certain media, what changes you would like
to see, and which has been most productive
for you in the past. The more information
you can provide your web designer will
ultimately help create a more cost
effective, custom web solution that meets
all of your personal and/or business needs. |
